From the most intimate detail to the campus master plan that takes years to realize, we love to capture a sense of place and the process of design. As we tell each architect’s story, we aim to document this process, design philosophy, and the success of its execution in the built form.

The Spotlight team has a passion for architecture and design. After all, it’s where we started. While awe-inspiring work occurs daily in this industry, it is not often that the stories of the people behind those projects are told. 

Through Spotlight, we aim to spark fresh conversation and inspiration in the world of architecture while highlighting the brilliant artists directly impacting their communities.

Spotlight Architect was born at Above Summit, a Boston-based film and photography studio specializing in aerial and documentary storytelling. Our team travels near and far to capture stories on design and construction that shape our built world.

Founders Jovan and Emilie have backgrounds in architecture which has shaped the lens through which our team tells stories. Having both studied and practiced in the field, they understand the nuances of storytelling for architects and designers. We know that it’s about more than the physical structure—it’s about everything that led up to that product - the process, problem solving, and people involved.

Our unique narrative approach is a blend of our diverse backgrounds in cinematography, photography, journalism, architecture, and design. We are a small yet mighty video production studio that packs a punch as a tight-knit crew.
